Kingsley signing adds firepower to squad
In a twist that only seems to happen in football, the man who was bearing down on goal – until Josh Jordan cleaned him out – to try to score what would have been a dramatic late equaliser for Kidsgrove last weekend, has now left the league leaders to strengthen our squad by signing for us.
Kingsley Adu-Gyamfi is a very talented forward player who can play anywhere across the frontline. He provides a wealth of experience, which will benefit us in the short term and provide opportunities for our younger wide players to learn in what is already promising to be a very exciting season.
Kingsley caught up with me before first team training yesterday and was champing at the bit to get going:
“I’m after a fresh challenge as I’d not quite been getting in the team at Kidsgrove. I know Darbs pretty well here at Castle and I spoke to him about the possibility of coming here and here I am!
“I like to take on players one-on-one and use my pace to get passed people and in behind. I’m just really looking forward to getting to know my new team-mates and making a good impression.”
The gaffer, as you would expect, is keen to get working with Kingsley. Paul said:
“Kingsley knows what’s required at this level and I’m sure we can get the best out of him. He can cover any of the front three positions and is a really dangerous player. In our league, teams need a goal threat and options and there’s absolutely no doubt that Kingsley provides that.”
Ghanaian Kingsley spent the early part of his career playing for Cittadella, a city in northern Italy before moving to the UK in 2017. Having scored 60 goals for Silverdale Athletic, he got a move to Kidsgrove and now we are delighted to have him with us.
Welcome to ‘Castle Kingsley!
