Tim Grice signs for Castle!

Newcastle Town are delighted to confirm the signing of striker Tim Grice from recently promoted Leek Town.

Grice joins us after breaking all kinds of records with Leek, becoming their record appearance holder and all time top goal scorer, amassing over 250 goals for the blues.

The 35 year old joins us as he links up with his former gaffer, Neil Baker, who he played for at Leek.

Neil said: “We are delighted to be able to bring someone of Gricey’s calibre into the side.

He will add a lot to the team and he is a very good lad to have around the place and is eager to help our young lads out.

Having worked with him at Leek as soon as I heard he was available I had to try and get him here at Newcastle.”

Grice signed for Leek in 2011 from North West Counties side Eccleshall and has been there ever since, becoming their longest serving player.

The striker started out at Stoke City Academy and was also on the books of Midlands club Aston Villa.

Grice moved to play locally having stints at WolstantonUnited and Alsager Town before getting his breakthrough at Leek.
