PRE MATCH PINT
If you are getting into Stafford a touch earlier than when the turnstiles open this weekend well you are in luck with 2 Wetherspoons to attack for a pre-match pint and perhaps even breakfast,
The Picture House and The Butlers Bell, the Butlers bell is the closer of the two and is just a short 20 minute walk from the ground (0.9 miles)
there is also the Kings Arms which is situated just near the ground which is a very good pub on matchdays as is and was, last time we went to The Joiners Arms which is on Marston Road also
But be sure you arrive at the ground from 1pm as this is when the social club will be open to supporters.
So who are we up against?
This weekend's opponents Stafford Rangers are no strangers again to us as we have played them the last 4 pre-seasons and have met regularly in other cup competitions in the past.
Stafford play in the league above us in the NPL Premier Division, and have had a fantastic start to their 2022/23 season and currently sit top of the league having played 6 won 4 drawn 1 and lost 1.
They have scored 10 goals in the league this season with Jack Baxter and Tom Tonks both getting 2 goals a piece so far
In their last outing, they lost to Belper Town 1-2 in front of just over 1,000 fans on Bank Holiday Monday.
Who 2 Watch For?
Yes, we are here once again and there are 2 players I'm going pick out in this game one is Alex Kiwomya who has played for many EFL sides including Crewe Alexandra and has signed with Macclesfield last season. Alex is a good fast-paced player with a superb crossing ability but does not tend to get on the score sheets much, which is something we will be hoping he does not do this weekend.
The main threat will be Kaiman Anderson who has got just 1 goal so far this season but has the ability to score and create chances from nothing so both of these players are ones to look out for.
Match Prediction
On Paper this is an interesting game Castle are unbeaten and in good form but Stafford too are in superb form having just lost the last game but its the FA Cup the form book is thrown away and both sides will be hopeful of getting in the bowl on Monday for the second qualifying round.
If Castle play like they have been doing and stay compact and together this is there game but unlike the last few games where we have predicted goals i don't see this and see just the 1 goal, and hopefully it will come from anybody part of a Newcastle Town player.
