Newcastle Town are currently in 14th place, while Clitheroe sit in 8th place in the table.
Newcastle are coming into this game on the back of 3 straight wins and have only lost 1 in the last 5.
Clitheroe come into it after only winning 1 in the last 5, so Newcastle will be coming into this game as favourites and will believe that they can overtake Clitheroe and go into 8th if results go their way.
The last time that these two teams met earlier on in the season at Shawbridge, Clitheroe won 2-1.
Newcastle went 1 nil up until an inform Sefton Gonzales had other ideas and put the ball in the back of the net.
Newcastle have only won 2 out of the last 7 against Clitheroe with Clitheroe winning 4, while
there has been just 1 draw.
Clitheroe striker Sefton Gonzales has scored 14 goals in only 22 games and will be looking to score past Newcastle in his second spell at Clitheroe after joining from Ramsbottom in July of 2021.
Newcastle have only conceded 1 goal in the last five league games so they’ll believe that they can stop 1 of the most inform strikers in the league.
They will also be hoping that Tommy van der Laan will be fit after being forced off with an ankle injury last weekend.
Newcastle haven’t got a game next week so they must get something out of this game to keep them in touching distance with the play off positions.
