FIRST HALF
Newcastle began the first half with some good possession football and began to move the ball around well across the pitch with Stafford also seeing their share of possession and moving the ball well. Stafford had a few early chances which Castle managed to mop up well and keep their cool despite no competitive football of any kind since November 3rd.
Both sides made few chances in the first half as it was more of a game of playing and keeping possession and getting use to been back on the pitch and playing football
Half Time - 0-0
SECOND HALF
Castle made 8 changes at half time and brought on all trialists that we have taken on and only Luke Dennis, Jack van der Laan and Zak Noble staying in the first team. However the changes slightly disrupted the flow of Castle's Football and on 62 minutes a great passage of play from Stafford had then feed the ball down the channel to the ever dangerous Joe Cuff who slotted the ball across the Castle keeper to put Rangers 1 to the good. A few minutes later and the referee awarded a penalty to Stafford Rangers and Tyrone Olofi coolly slotted it to the right of the Castle keeper and it just had enough pace to beat him and put Rangers two goals up in the space of just 3 minutes.
Castle continued to try and get back in the game with a couple of the trialist players impressing but they could not get the killer ball into the box and get on the end of it and the game fizzed away after 80 minutes with both teams looking to preserve energy and keep possession of the ball and few chances followed in the last 10 of the game.
