Our first team coach Nigel Keogh has decided to move to pastures new by taking up an assistant manager role with Northern Premier League Premier division side Ashton United.
Nigel joined us from Buxton in the summer and has been a popular member of Robin’s backroom team in the short spell that he has been with us.
Before he left us, Nigel had this to say: “I’ve really enjoyed working with Robin and the rest of the lads at Newcastle but this is an opportunity for me to try myself out at a different level. I’ll always be grateful for the opportunity I was given at Newcastle – it’s a great little club that is undoubtedly heading in the right direction.”
Newcastle Town’s first team manager, Robin Van der Laan, said: “On behalf of everyone at the club, I would like to wish Nigel all the best in his new role. Although he wasn’t with us for long after arriving from Buxton in the summer, he made a really good impression and I’m sure he’ll be successful in his new assistant manager role at Ashton.”
