Match Preview v Congleton Town

Tom Emmott previews this weekends fixture...

Newcastle Town v Congleton Town Match Preview Promotion hunting Congleton Town take the short journey down to the Red Industries Stadium this weekend as Newcastle look to get back to winning ways after a disappointing result against Hednesford Town.

Crewe loanee Oli Armstong was amongst the goalscorers for Castle at the Keys Park Stadium, and will look to add to his tally against highflying Congleton. Congleton bagsman Max McCarthy will also be looking to leave his mark on the game, as the striker currently sits third in the race for top scorer this season with 14 league goals to his name.

Newcastle look to add to their impressive recent home form after winning their last two in Lyme Valley, with a 2-0 victory that sunk City of Liverpool, and a 1-0 win against Stoke City to progress into the semi final of the Staffordshire Senior Cup. The visitors, Congleton Town, currently sit comfortably in the promotion places in fourth this season as they come into the game coming off a routine 2-1 home win against Mossley.

The last time the sides met was in mid November, a game to forget for both sides however, after a goalless stalemate took place at the Cleric Stadium
