The club is investing in its future with a decent sized helping hand from the Football Foundation. The club has just received a total of £80,000 to invest in a range of equipment, which is going to be used to improve the playing surfaces at the club’s Roe Lane training ground and stadium where our teams play.
All the equipment, which includes a mower, a tractor, a spreader, quadraplay and a line marker for match days will be used to improve the playing service for the many boys and girls that use our facilities.
Club chairman Gavin Appleby said: ‘This is another significant step forward for the club. This investment allows us to ensure that we continue to improve our pitches, quite a task with some of the inclement weather we have been experiencing lately!”
“I trust that our newly appointed groundsman Clive Bentham will do an excellent job and help us continue to develop our club.”
The majority of the funding that the club has been granted has come from the Football Foundation with additional support being provided by Derbyshire Environmental Trust, through the Walleys Quarry Landfill fund.
