Club pays respects

Sad news coming out of the club this past week...

The club were extremely saddened to learn of the passing of dedicated and respected volunteer and cafe manager Alison Appleby this past week, and passes on it's sincere condolences to Peter, Gavin, Kerry and all of her family, friends and football colleagues.

Despite taking on many roles while at the club, Alison was happy to chip in where needed, she was never happier than when she was in the Cafe at Roe Lane, which she built from nothing in 2016 to the thriving cafe it is today. Come rain or shine, 52 weeks of the year, midweek or weekends, she was there serving her community with a smile. This will be her lasting legacy at the club!

In recognition of this work, the cafe at Roe Lane was renamed 'Alison's Cafe' in June 2024.

This weekend saw many of our Junior teams hold a minutes applause in appreciation of the amazing contribution Alison made to the club and in due course there will be an opportunity to show further respect to someone that will be sadly missed but certainly never forgotten.
