What3Words: ///gown.renew.cushy
Date: Saturday 2nd April, 3:00pm Kickoff
With the current state of play Castle travel north to Clitheroe looking to get out of their current rut and find the form to get some much-needed points onto the board.
Castle will travel north with players on the treatment table as well as players coming back in and ready to step up if and when required.
Tuesday night's game vs 1874 Northwich took its toll on Robin van der Laan's squad with a couple of players getting knocks and now looking like they might miss Saturday'game but we will only find the outcome 2 pm on Saturday when the team sheet is handed in.
The league table will not lie and as we can see Castle is still hanging on above the 18th spot now currently on 1.000 in the PPG however a solid win this weekend would help castle move further away from Prescot if they were to not get anything from their away game to Glossop NE whom Castle got a 0-0 draw with last weekend.
Clitheroe on the other hand are in 6th and has eyes no doubt on getting closer to the playoff spots so will not be any closer to the postseason beach than they are to Blackpool.
Last Time we played
When we played Clitheroe earlier in the season it was one of the games where Castle dominated most of the play but it was a 84th-minute goal that clinched the 3 points for Clitheroe and sent our media manager away to the pub on his 40th tearing his hair out.
Who 2 Watch
He might not have found the net in the midweek game or when he visited Lyme Valley but Sefton Gonzales is a threat in front of goal and has got 14 marks this season.
What's the Form
Clitheroe over the last 6 games currently sits in 3rd on the form table with 4 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat which was at the hands of our friends up the A34 Kidsgrove.
They have scored 15 goals in these 6 games but only conceded 3 goals with Chris Thompson keeping 4 clean sheets. So the Castle front line will need to be on point if they wish to get past the shot-stopper this weekend.
Either way, this is a must-win game for both sides and for very different reasons, and you will be able to follow the action from the game on the FWP and Castle's Twitter feed.
