As 2024 comes to a close, it is often a time for reflection on our achievements of the past 12 months. We can reflect fondly on our many successes, namely but not limited to:
A wonderful FA Cup run for the Men's 1st Team under the guidance of new manager Neil Baker, resulting in a wonderful tie away at Scunthorpe United.
A first in reaching the FA Youth Cup 1st Round proper for the Under 18s boys, leading and taking Birmingham City all the way in front of a packed Lyme Valley.
The appointment of the club's first ever female director in Julie Mirowski, a sign of a truly diverse club.
A 10th appearance in 11 seasons for our Under 18s in the Sentinel Cup final, narrowly losing to Leek Town on penalties.
The continued development of our Women's and disability offer ensuring everyone gets access to our wonderful game.
Over 1000 people playing football each week at our magnificent Roe Lane facility with lots of success for our junior teams.
The continued support of our many partners and sponsors without whom we could not run.
In short the club has continued to work to it's ethos of serving the local community. It is our ambition to reach and positively affect the lives of everyone who comes into contact with the club at any level, do we always get it right, absolutely not, but we certainly try to and I suspect we get more right than wrong.
To close, I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of our local clubs, supporters, volunteers, partners, players, parents and committee members a very Happy Christmas and an even happier New Year.
Best wishes to you all,
Gav
