So as we have said its been some time since we last played at home 29th January to be exact and we jas a 1-1 draw with Ramsbottom United thanks to a Tommy van der Laan goal. Since that game we have only played 2 games which were a defeat at Prescott and a battled out 1-0 win at Colne.

To say that the game on Saturday is going to be tough is true, when we went to Bootle in September we were 2 down at the break and not at all in the game, but we are unsure what Robin said to them at half time but it sparked them into life and we come away with a 3-2 victory courtesy of a Nathan Morley HatTrick, and the media team missed the first as we were still in the bar!

Sadly this weekend it's looking like Nat will still not have recovered to play however we welcome Eden Bailey into the side on loan from Port Vale who looks sharp and keen to get going. We also welcome Mickey Conlon back this weekend who is another player we would think go straight into the matchday squad.

So how are Bootle Doing?

They are going well at the moment and find themselves in 6th spot in the league 7 points adrift of the playoffs but with a game and 2 in hand on some of the teams so they will be looking to make sure they keep on track.

Away from home this season they have faired ok playing 15, winning 8, just the 1 draw and suffering 5 defeats on the road.

In the last 6 games, they have won 4 and lost 2 putting them 5th in the current form table unlike us who are on the 2's with (W2, D2, L2)

Who to watch for?

As you will see in our matchday programme, we spoke with 2 Bootle FC supporters this week and the same name comes up Ben Hodkinson

In the reverse fixture is was Ben who got both of Bootle's goals so we know he will be a threat and with him liking to shoot from distance we are sure to be ready for some power shots coming into the Castle box.

Lets hope that come 4:45 on Saturday afternoon the 3 points stay here in Staffordshire but we are in for one tough game but lets get behinds the lads and help them go to victory
