Appointment to Board of Directors

The club is pleased to announce Ray Moreland has been appointed to the Board of Directors.

Ray was brought up in Halifax and then graduated from Cambridge University before qualifying as a solicitor in 1978. He has gone onto work for Crown Prosecution Service for 12 years before joining a local firm as a partner specialising in criminal law until his planned retirement in April this year.

As a footballer, Ray played for the youth team at Halifax Town and had trials with Bolton Wanderers and Bradford City.

Taking the step into the boardroom, Ray was a Director at Halifax Town FC 2003 to 2005 working closely with Chris Wilder in one of his first managerial posts, before a spell at Mossley FC from 2012 to 2018, again as a Director.

Ray has been working with the club behind the scenes for the past 12 months before his position was officially confirmed and approved by the Football Association.

Chairman Gavin Appleby said, "We are all pleased to have Ray officially join the board. His knowledge and experience can only help us through an exciting time for the club."
